ECCL is committed to keeping the library open as a valuable community resource; not only to loan books and provide access to computers, but also to run a wide variety of activities and events. We aim to extend our opening hours but to do this, we need to raise funds: from April 2019 the council will no longer be funding the running costs and our library will be totally volunteer led.

We are aiming to raise funds and other resources through:

  • events
  • room rental, including a new hotdesk space which will be available shortly
  • donations from local businesses (in cash and kind)
  • donations from individuals
  • applications to grant funders 

We have applied for Gift Aid registration and will be launching an online donation page shortly.

We’d like to thank all the local businesses who have supported ECCL to date, including:

We also must thank the Echo Community newspaper for publishing a regular library column and Chris Arnot who writes it so well.

Last, but by no means least, local artist Claire Flynn who designed our superb logo; an exhibition of her work is currently displayed at the library.
